Each layer of the mind is not finality in itself, but a link in a long spiral ascent; therefore, even the more primitive layers of the mind are linked with the soul. The last layer in this ascension to the soul is the fifth layer of the mind or Selfless Mind. It is a great mistake to think that the fifth layer and the condition of being a saint depends on any definite religious belief or system. It doesn't even suggest a strict morality that is founded on the fear of God, a God that would take revenge and is prone to anger and harsh punishment. The peace and serenity found on the faces of the wise that have achieved Selfless Mind is built on the principle that being true to their path they are doing the will of the Father; they belong to all. This is the highest moral standard that keeps them free from any moral or mental corruption and any negative influence from others.

 Religion has become a matter of family tradition, a moral habit with some social benefit because it appeals to the emotions and the mind, but true religion satisfies the unit consciousness not by words, but by action and reflection. It not only gives emotional energy and intellectual stimulation, but also takes the sincere beyond the mind to experience the soul or unit consciousness. Therefore, one should not be lost in the words alone, but in the experience, the realization of those words. The spoken and written words are not the goal; the end is not in the words themselves because they are just the rule, the standards that show the way to a blissful, loving experience in life. Contemplation teaches without the noise of words because its obvious goal is the intimate union with Christ consciousness. This union with Christ is like a drop of water losing itself in the ocean, yet there are as many approaches to this ocean of pure consciousness as there are Christians, churches and temples.

The Word within a Word shapes our lives so we need to listen to what our own inner being is telling us and to what nature is bringing us. This is our truth. The Word within shows us everything good and bad as clear water shows all the objects hidden on a lake’s bottom; broken glass, diamond rings, empty bottles, cans, nails, and other distasteful or beautiful objects. The clear water in the lake can also show what is above it. It reflects the sun off of the lake or in our case the mind, but when the mind or the water is polluted then the higher truths become hidden. They are not reflected and are forgotten so Adam falls one more time.
